Bariatric surgery is a highly effective tool for achieving significant weight loss, but long-term success requires more than the procedure itself. Medical literature highlights the importance of community support in helping patients reach and sustain their desired weight over time.

Engaging in support group activities has been shown to enhance post-operative outcomes, including improved quality of life, reduced emotional distress, greater adherence to follow-up care, and a decreased risk of reverting to unhealthy habits that contributed to obesity.
To support this crucial aspect of recovery, IB offers a dedicated support group led by Lic. Dayana Rodríguez from @GorditaFitRD. This resource is available to all patients as part of their post-surgical care, regardless of how much time has passed since their bariatric procedure.
